I went to the close ceremony of the Inner Mongolia living landscapes concert on September 27th in the Singlertary Center for the Arts. The performance of Symphony Orchestra and the traditional national instrument of Inner Mongolia really impressed me. I was totally shocked by the unbelievable harmonious between Symphony Orchestra and the traditional Chinese folk music. I was a learner of a kind of Chinese traditional instrument called Erhu, which looks a little bit like Sihu in the performance, but their sounds are totally different. And the Horsehead Fiddle really impressed me cause I never heard such a beautiful sound of Chinese national instrument. This concert gave me a great chance to get known about western music and traditional music. I guess I need to go back and pick up my Erhu again.
The movie "together" is talking about the story of a teenager, Xiaochun, who plays violin. His father is a normal chef and Xiaochun never met his mother. It looks like Xiaochun was born to be a violinist, when he was just 13 years old, he began to won all kinds of prizes. So Xiaochun's father decided to take him to Beijing and seek for better education. During the days in Beijing, Xiaochun found himself fell in love with a woman, Lily. Xiaochun has two instructors, Mr. Jiang and Mr. Yu. Their teaching methods are totally different. Mr. Yu is kind of strict to Xiaochun, he let Linyu, another student of him to study with Xiaochun. Before the competition, Mr. Yu decided to let Xiaochun to attend. But when Xiaochun knew his father is not his real father, he gave up the competition and performed for his father in the train station. At first, I just thought this is a movie talking about the relationship of the father and son. But after I watched it, I found that the meanings of "together" can be different. It could be the emotion together with musical skills. It also could be the art together with daily life. The film itself is normal. But the love, emotion and art can be the bullet of the gun, to move the audience.
